Quests

Tamily Tanderveil, the one-legged former pirate who runs the Otari Fishery, needs a few brave souls. Something has taken up residence in the basement of her warehouse and is feasting on her stores of fish. She wants the problem sorted out before the Founder's Day festival.

Queen Zolgran is dead, but the juvenile dragon she raised on stolen fish is very much alive somewhere below her throne room — untamed, growing, and bred for one purpose: to destroy Otari. King Kolgan has sworn the surviving Stonescales to killing it. The party looked at the way down, thought better of it, and turned back toward the rune door. The dragon isn't going anywhere. Neither is its appetite.

Brelda's translation of the four Dwarven riddles — fire, air, water, mountain — opened a flooded passage in the kobold tunnels that forks toward a glowing light one way and a horrid stench the other. Kolgan's people never saw it open and took the runes for a curse; Herald thinks it is Zarmavdian's handiwork. Either way, somebody sealed it on purpose. With the Queen dealt with, the party has turned back to find out why.

A letter found in Queen Zolgran's hoard, written by a Dr. Zacchaeus Quagmire III to his nieces Charlotte and Theodora of the Historical Society. It describes a place the party hasn't found: a vast library below, with flesh-eating librarians, ghosts, a "squirmy entity", and hostile mechanisms — and, in the carrels to the east, a treatise by Jan Dreli Kolai the Sage with "knowledge and power" hidden inside. The letter was left behind a painting of a tiger, beside a secret door. Pazuzu has a stolen horse painting that nobody has looked behind yet.
