Appearance
A pixie standing about three feet tall, with iridescent dragonfly wings and an air of restless motion, faint gusts and glimmers of light seeming to swirl about him wherever he goes.
Personality
Beans jokes when he is nervous, and the more dangerous a situation grows the more likely he is to offer a ridiculous quip, a dramatic bow, or a badly-timed pun. He is intensely curious, unable to resist a locked door, a strange noise, or a forbidden warning, and prizes freedom above all, believing no one should be forced into a destiny they did not choose. His flaw is that he runs when he feels trapped, whether by danger or by others' expectations; when too many people rely on him, he is apt to vanish rather than admit that he is afraid.
Backstory
Beans was born in a hidden pixie grove near the Isle of Kortos, where his unusual air and spirit magic made him both admired and feared. After he used that power to calm restless spirits near an old battlefield, the grove's elders declared he was meant to guard the boundary between the living, the dead, and the fey-touched winds, but the weight of a destiny chosen for him sent him fleeing to join a travelling circus, where he made his name as an aerialist and illusionist billed as the 'storm sprite.' The circus passed through Otari, but Beans stayed, drawn by whispers rising on the wind beneath the cheerful town and by the eccentric seer Wrin Sivinxi, who recognized him as spirit-touched and became something between mentor and friend.
