Lardus Longsaddle
Captain of the Otari Garrison
Appearance
An elderly but hale man in the green-and-white uniform of the Otari Guard, carrying himself with the worn-down intensity of a big-city veteran who never quite learned to relax.
Personality
Intense, high-strung, and famously foul-mouthed, his nerves frayed by years of service in Absalom. He runs a tight ship and is utterly incorruptible, yet pragmatic to the bone: he holds monthly meetings with Yinyasmera and tolerates a measured amount of Osprey Club thievery against wealthy visiting merchants, having learned in the big city that you cannot get rid of crime, but you can regulate it.
Backstory
A veteran of Absalom's city guard, Longsaddle 'retired' to Otari a decade ago and took command of the Garrison after his predecessor, Trusk Hanely, drowned in an ill-advised feat of breath-holding. He now leads the green-and-white guards who keep the peace, patrol the Roseguard Road against banditry, and double as the town's firefighters and barristers. Stricter and sharper-tongued than the man before him, he quietly acknowledges the Osprey Club's role in keeping Otari safe from real threats.
